Sunny Today, Trivial Tonight: What's Happening on MV

Five things to do and know on Martha's Vineyard this Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.

1. According to the National Weather Service, today's Vineyard weather is expected to be sunny, with a high temperature of around 37 degrees. As for tonight, here's what the NWS posted on its Facebook page: "Low temperatures tonight will be warmer than the High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wind chills around the start of the New Year early Wednesday morning will be near or below zero. Enjoy the mild weather while it's here!"

2. Whenever you're ready to take down your holiday greenery, here's Where to Recycle a Christmas Tree on Martha's Vineyard.

3. Tonight at 7, the YMCA of Martha's Vineyard hosts a "multi-media trivia night" with host Ray WhitakerReturning by popular demand, Trivia night invites you to create a four person team and compete with your friends to try to win the top spot and some cool prizes. Questions will be culled from popular culture and include video and audio questions and a whole lot more. Admission is free (donations are welcomed) This is an all-ages event, so bring grownups and teens.

4. It's not too late to grant a wish to one of the many Island nonprofits on the MV Donors Collaborative holiday wish list. No donation is too small to make a difference to groups like Martha's Vineyard Helping Homeless Animals and Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.

5. In Edgartown, Donaroma's lighted drive-through holiday display remains open to the public until New Year's.
