Community Corner

Snack Tactics, Erosion Worries, Faulkner Novels

Five different things to do on Martha's Vineyard this Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. Do you have an event we missed? Add it here in the comments.

  1. The Tuesday special at Chicken Alley Thrift Shop in Vineyard Haven is 50 percent off books, movies, CDs, games and puzzles. Proceeds benefit the essential work of Martha's Vineyard Community Services.
  2. Learn how to put together healthy snacks for kids with licensed nutritionalist, Prudence Levy, at Martha's Vineyard Public Charter School Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Free admission, babysitting available.
  3. Tuesday's agenda for Oak Bluffs selectmen includes closing East Chop Drive, hard hit by erosion and at risk of further collapse. Their meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Oak Bluffs Public Library meeting room.
  4. A six-session study group focusing on three works by William Faulkner begins Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Vineyard Haven Public Library. Find out more and sign up at vhlibrary.org.
  5. Are you, or is someone you know, looking for a job on the Vineyard? Our latest Who's Hiring on Martha's Vineyard round-up has links to recent help-wanted postings.
