New Martha's Vineyard Webcam Watches Lagoon Pond
Five things to do and know about on the Island this Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014.
1. The Martha's Vineyard Museum posts on Facebook: "We have a new feature at our property in Vineyard Haven, a webcam looking out over the lawn, lagoon, and parts of the harbor. If you're missing the Vineyard or just want to see what's going on in the area, you can visit it 24/7. Enjoy! http://50.245.3.117/view/viewer_index.shtml?id=370."
2. The Chronic Disease Self-Management Class, developed at Stanford University, is a free six-session program meeting weekly at the Vineyard Nursing Association in Vineyard Haven starting Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Please call or email to register: 508-687-7118 or info@vineyardhealth.org, vineyardhealth.org.
3. Island author Michael G. West will read from and discuss his two most recently published books, Dutch Reckoning (a whodunit about the Gardner Museum art theft) and Xoc - The White Shark Murders (about the annual Monster Shark tournament in Oak Bluffs in July) at the Oak Bluffs Public Library starting at 6 p.m. Free. 4. ARTS & SCRIPTS II: Works in Creation Across Island Now! starts at 7 p.m. in Chilmark and includes music, literature, photography and other visual arts. 9 State Road, free.5. Offshore Ale Company's Cribbage Nights begin Thursdays at 8 p.m.: "Single-event tournament play (musn't be present every Thursday); bring own board or use ours; hosted by Lazy Frog Jake; Kitchen open until 8:30pm for those who would like to order off the menu."
