Free to $20 on Martha's Vineyard Tuesday

Five very different things to do on the Vineyard this last Tuesday of August, 2013.


  1. Free pick for kids: Bring your little monkeys to the Vineyard Haven Public Library at 10 a.m. for Monkeys! Story Time with Kathy Forrester. Best for ages 2 and younger.
  2. The Oak Bluffs board of selectmen meets at 5 p.m. at the town library to discuss matters including the opening dates for scallop season. Agenda here.
  3. Free pick for everyone: Johnny Hoy & the Bluefish play at the Edgartown Public Library starting at 6 p.m.
  4. Poet Nathalie Handel is the 7 p.m. headliner at the Pathways & Featherstone Summer Festival of Poetry, which begins at 6 p.m. with music and refreshments at Featherstone Center for the Arts in Oak Bluffs. $20.
  5. Lobby Live! at the Vineyard Playhouse features Rhonda Coullet on keyboard performing songs from her CD "The American Secret," including some songs from her musical, Runaway Beauty Queen, which was produced at the Vineyard Playhouse in 2010. Accompanied by Judy Belushi Pisano. 8 p.m., $10-$15.
