High School Dance, Holiday Gift Show, Movie Fridays, Schoolhouse Rock

Five things to do on Martha's Vineyard this Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.


  1. The Featherstone Center for the Arts holds its 11th Annual Holiday Gift Show Preview Party Friday at 6 p.m.
  2. Friday at 7 p.m. it's Schoolhouse Rock Live! The Musical at the Oak Bluffs School.  "Conjunction Junction,""Three is a Magic Number," "Interplanet Janet," and all your other favorites will be performed with a live band. Adults $7, students $5. The show repeats Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
  3. Also at 7 p.m. Friday, Alex's Place at the Y hosts a dance for high school teens featuring reggae, hip-hop and top 40. 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.: $5, high school teens only.
  4. The MV Rotary Club is helping in the Philippines and you can too, writes Mike McCourt: "The Martha's Vineyard Rotary Club is sending $1,000 to the local Rotary Clubs in the Philippines to help out. Through Rotary there are no middle men so the money goes directly to the hurt. If you would like to join in with MV Rotary Club in this effort please contact:
