Halloween on Martha's Vineyard: Where's the Party?

Five ways — four free — to celebrate the spooky holiday on our haunted island, including crafts, parties and even a parade. Happy Halloween!

  1. The Oak Bluffs Public Library invites you and the kids to a Pre-Trick or Treat Craft and costume party, Thursday morning at 10:30. Wear your costumes and make festive candy corn. Free.
  2. There's a Halloween Parade in Vineyard Haven from 3 to 4 p.m. with puppeteer Bella and her music. Meet at the Mansion House corner for this costumed sidewalk stroll. Free.
  3. The West Tisbury Public Library holds its Halloween costume party at the Grange with crafts, refreshments and hayrides from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free.
  4. Also in West Tisbury, you can ride the spooky hayride, play games, win prizes and enjoy refreshments at the Halloween Party at the Agricultural Hall. 6 p.m. Free.
  5. Your costume could win you a prize at "The Flock," a Halloween party at Dreamland benefiting Martha's Vineyard Community Services. It kicks off at 9 p.m. and along with the costumed capers, there will be entertainment by DJ Pretty Ninja, Teo-reidy and Ben Taylor, performing as Antler Boy. Tickets are $15 at the door or $10 in advance at Chicken Alley Thrift Shop in Vineyard Haven.
