Get a Unique Look at the Martha's Vineyard Museum Today

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day on Martha's Vineyard.

Today is Wednesday, Jan. 15, and here are the five things you need to know

1. It should be another nice day on Martha's Vineyard. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be increasingly cloudy, with a high near 50. Tonight should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. (sunrise, 7:07 a.m.; high tide, 10:27 a.m.; low tide, 4:05 p.m.; sunset, 4:36 p.m.)

2. Local residents are invited to join David Nathans, Executive Director of the Martha's Vineyard Museum, for a tour of current exhibits on display. The tour will run from 3 to 4 p.m. and Nathans will reveal his favorite objects in the exhibits. Refreshments will be served. The tour is free for members, $7 for non-members.

3. Everyone is trying to revamp and refresh in the new year and Patch is no different. We’ve just released the latest version of our iPhone app, free for you to download. Click Here for more information.

4. Looking for something to do this afternoon? Consider cheering on the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School Vineyarders Swim Team at the YMCA of Martha’s Vineyard as they compete against Sandwich High School. The entire pool will be closed to the public from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.

5. Today in History: On Jan. 15, 1777, New Connecticut, which is present day Vermont, declared its independence.
