Fireworks, Feasts and Dancing Ring in 2014 on the Vineyard

Five fun ways to celebrate the end of 2013 and the start of 2014 on Martha's Vineyard.

1. Celebrate New Year's Eve at Harbor View Hotel with gourmet hors d’oeuvres by Executive Chef Nathan Gould, live music by the Sultans of Swing and the Mike Benjamin Band and a midnight champagne toast on Harbor View’s wrap-around porch as fireworks erupt over Edgartown Harbor. $95 per person, doors open 9 p.m. Bring your camera and follow these tips on How to Photograph Fireworks.

2. If you'd rather dance out the Old Year with the rocking blues of Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, a trio version of the band plays the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven Tuesday at 7 p.m. Hoy promises on Facebook that the audience will be able to dance. Admission is $10.

3. Dreamland in Oak Bluffs hosts a DJ party starting at 10 p.m. with admission $10 for men, free for women.

4. Le Grenier in Vineyard Haven is serving a $95 prix fixe New Year's Eve dinner.

5. Film buffs can ring in the New year at the Martha's Vineyard Film Center in Vineyard Haven with a "special night of film, food, libations, music, and cheer – including live TV coverage of Times Square at midnight on our Big Screen." (How much? Let us know if you can figure that out from the mvfilmsociety.com website.)
