Felix Neck Membership Deal, Sailing Author Talk, Place for Teens to Hang

Five things to know about and do on Martha's Vineyard this Tuesday,Nov. 12, 2013.

  1. Deal of the Day: Mass Audubon is offering family memberships for just $32 a year, which gets two people free admission to the Island's beloved Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and all the many other Audubon properties in the state, plus discounts on programs and merchandise and free subscriptions to the society's magazine and newsletter.   2. Author Ed Merck speaks on "Sailing the Mystery" at 7 p.m. at the Vineyard Haven Public Library.
  3. Have you checked our Buy | Sell | Trade board lately? Here's a recent post: Young, professional couple looking for year-round rental. It begins "We are a police officer and teacher looking to move to OB." Leave a comment if you can help them out.
  4. Spread the word: The Martha's Vineyard Rotary Club is seeking requests of up to $2,000 "for funding of projects or services from any charity, non-profit organizations, or organization dedicated to serving the needs of the residents of Martha Vineyard."   5. Island tweens and teens have a Place to hang out after school: Alex's Place at the Y is open from Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, the Anime Club meets at 3 p.m. Find out more at alexsplace.net.
