Celebrate the Y Pavilion, Volunteer at the FARM, Party at the Museum, Tall Tales in Tisbury
Five fun things to do on the Vineyard this Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.
- Celebrate the work of Martha's Vineyard Regional High School Building Trades students and their mentors Friday at the dedication of the new Pavilion at the YMCA of Martha's Vineyard, 111R Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Rd, Oak Bluffs. The welcome and awards begin at noon and a light lunch reception starts at 12:45 p.m. Free.
- The FARM Institute at 14 Aero Ave. in Edgartown has posted a Facebook invitation: "We hope you'll join us this Friday for the clean up and winter prep of the Friendship Garden from 1-4 p.m."
- Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, Kitchen Porch Catering at 14 A Street hosts the kickoff for its Swine & Dine weekend. "Pig Out with Smoke," features "live country music, local beer, and Pulled Pork Sandwiches slow-smoked all day from our locally-raised pigs. All enjoyed with music and even face painting for the kids! $35."
- The Martha's Vineyard Museum at 59 School St. in Edgartown holds a reception Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. to introduce its latest exhibition, "Toys." $6.
- Friday at 6 p.m., enjoy Free Family Fun Onstage at Tisbury School with "Big Trouble" and "Big Mose", two musical-theater stories created by fourth-graders working with local professionals. Free.
