Are you ready for a RAW change? I know I am. I often wake up in the morning thinking, "What can I do today to make my life better?". I'm inspired by the possibilities. I'm excited at the very thought. I'm energized into action.
Here's what I've come up with for today: I will incorporate one raw food meal a day, for 30 days, and see how doing this effects my well-being.
Here's why RAW: What we know is that our bodies need enzymes, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, protein, essential fats and fiber to function properly and optimally. To put it simply, it is a fact that cooking food destroys many of the enzymes that help us naturally digest it, as well as a large percentage of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients we need to thrive. It just makes sense to incorporate more raw foods into our diet if we want to get the most from our food. The more nutrients we can digest from our foods, the more likely our chances are of having good energy, a highly functioning immune system, properly functioning organs, the ability to form bone and tissue...the list goes on and on.
But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself. Ask yourself, as will I, how you feel after you've eaten a raw meal vs. a cooked meal. Conduct your own experiment and gather your own scientific data based on your individual body/mind experience.

Lucky for me, my day 1 RAW meal was taken care of when I visited my good friend who is an AMAZING chef that just went raw, herself. After a delicious "everything salad" and a raw brownie, I feel good and nourished. The food looked so beautiful and good, I couldn't possibly have waited to eat it in time for a photo. Sorry, I'll do better next time ;).
On a separate note, while taking steps towards my raw journey, I accidentally purchased and Excalibur Dehydrator, instead of the Vitamix I was really going for. When stocking your kitchen with the neces(scary) - because it's damn expensive! - tools for healthy eating, pay attention when you click the 'buy now' button. I hope that eating more raw foods will sharpen my attention to detail!
Be inspired. Eat well. Live well. Be happy.
