It's the "anti-'Jersey Shore,'" says Jamie Reiff, associate producer of television's upcoming "The Vineyard."

"We want to show off how awesome this island is," Reiff told Patch. "We're not trying to make it trashy."

Reiff is one of more than 50 cast and crew members arriving on the Island this weekend to produce the debut season of a series they hope will be a hit on the ABC Family cable channel.

"We want to tread as light as possible" on the Island during their seven-week stay, Reiff told MV Patch.

Reiff describes "The Vineyard" as a "coming-of-age show about teenagers who come on the Island specifically to work there for the summer, blending with the people who live there year-round."

The program has also been described as a "docu-soap."

Most of the filming will take place at the Black Dog Tavern, where several characters are cast as employees, and at young castmembers' shared home near the East Chop lighthouse on Telegraph Hill, she said.

The series is "family-oriented," Reiff said.
