The Vineyard Cup Returns to the Island this Weekend

Over 100 boats will fill the harbor today for the regatta benefiting Sail Martha’s Vineyard

The Vineyard Haven harbor will be packed with more than 100 different boats of all shapes and sizes, from schooners to modern design racers starting today, July 13th and continuing through the weekend for the Vineyard Cup.

The course for the annual event, which is sponsored by Sail Martha's Vineyard, is designed not only test the skills of the crew, but to provide great viewing for spectators from a variety of Island landmarks. See below for a guide of locations to view the action.

A day of racing would not be complete without an after-party and the Vineyard Cup is known for throwing some seriously fun parties. In 2012 the featured band is Entrain.  There will be harbor-side parties each day under the Vineyard Cup tent on the Beach Road Extension by the Black Dog Tavern.

Purchase a bracelet for $30 a night or $75 for the whole weekend, and eat and drink as much as you would like.

Proceeds help support Sail MV that provides many programs to year-round and seasonal residents, such as the High School Sailing team.

no no i think its fine to race yachts while the world burns. im just saying the illusion of security is breaking down. its hard to be equalized, brought down to size. the size of every human's value is the same. the yacht races are about to end.

the local mv sale dudes are cool. its just the perpetuation of this bizarre kennedy wannabe thing that is odd. the gap between the haves and have nots is VERY well known to the have nots. its the haves that are about to be in for a shock.

a dude who owned a restaurant here bought it by retiring from the world bank where he bankrupted honduran hotels, the left the IMF/WB and bought the property from the local gov for PENNIES on the dollar. for christ sake the founder of the fucking CARLYLE group just bought a little farm for the locals...HOW LITTLE IT TAKES to be bribed by the Plantation Owners. How Do I know...I used to BE one. I worked for him.

Edit the patch. Work in their fields. Serve up your kids to them. Cheer on their regattas. AYFKM? First hand info: they knew EXACLTY how to get your property, cash, debt, and dude, they HAVE IT. You simply dont want to spend even the tiny amount of time to find out if I am full of shit. Read Creature From Jekyll Island. Thats a start. I simply got out to save my SOUL! I say release the KRAKEN! then again...its your world. As you wish. I am happy with just about any chance to breathe and see some green. Sorry for the update, I really wish things were different. and let me tell you something about Jane Goodall. Dude if you have EVER worked with chimps or orangs. let me tell you, they will eat your fucking face off. Every one wanted to believe walt disney. its up to you. just tell me what you ACTUALLY SEE, FEEL? How far off am I? (dude seriously the primates are awesome but they are NOT like you think.) blessings I will be gone for good (for now) we are anonymous.
