Tell us what you think of Coop de Ville

Coop de Ville, a favorite Island wing and beer spot on the Oak Bluffs Harbor has opened for the 2012 season.

Have you been there yet? If so, how was it? Did you order wings? How hot were they? What is your favorite Coop de Ville cocktail? Tell us in the comments what you think we have in store for us this summer!

the coop....it needs no introduction. Run by rock/porn star Carrol Melcher Berndt III, (also known as Petey) this fine establishment is a shrine to Island slackdom. In other words, don't worry, be happy,...it's summah time, slap a coupla grand on yer visa, you got all winter to pay it off. Enjoy the sunset, the summer gals, it's all good ...

First visit last Saturday- usually our first stop on our harbor strolls, esp. when raw bar is open. Love their steamed shrimp, too. No "cocktails" there, but they do have a unique selection of beers, and decent wines. Most importantly though- we look forward to seeing the fun, friendly staff who return each year.

The Coop is my favorite place to be in Oak Bluffs on a summer (or spring or fall) day! My wings were perfectly crispy and dressed, my beer was cold, and Petey served them himself. They have a new pale ale (Acme) in a bottle that is just delightful. I went to the Shipyard promotion after work last Friday, and even arriving after the event had ended, the place was bursting at the seams and Petey had to corral his guests to make sure they stayed in the appropriate areas; and it's not even May! I think they have an excellent summer in store! Can't wait to get there for lobster on Tuesdays!
