Made on Martha's Vineyard: Martha's Calmin' Scents

Local goat milk, honey and sand - ingredients found in the new skin care line created by The Mod Spa in Edgartown

The Mod Spa in Edgartown is developing a new line of skin care called “Martha's Calmin' Scents.”

“It is an intentionally Martha's Vineyard inspired organic skin care line which maintains a mission of utilizing as many indigenous Martha's Vineyard resources as possible,” said Sebastian Pattavina owner of the Mod Spa.

The products will be made with lavender, roses, lemon balm grown by Mod Spa and will also include sustainably harvested wild botanicals such as witch hazel and dandelions, along with sand, kelp and salt. The soaps and shave creams will be made using local honey and goat milk.

“Above all, we will be growing flowers and distilling our own hydrosols (flower waters) from a gorgeous hand hammered copper distiller,” said Pattavina.

The Island grown flowers and herbs will be infused into Chilmark Spring Water.

“All the minerals and trace elements of the Island's uniquely pure bedrock will be the aqueous base for all products in this line.”

Pattavina promises that each Martha's Calmin' Scents product will truly be carrying the Island's mystical cleansing, healing, nurturing and beautifying energy.
