Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Luxury Treatment at Such a Nice Price

Every week Patch brings you a Great Escape to unplug and recharge. This week, there's a new spa in town.

Rosette Sullivan has been busy as a bee since February, transforming her newly acquired space on Main Street, Vineyard Haven into a little slice of heaven. Sandwiched between Mocha Mott's and Citrine Beads and Imports, Polished Salon is now open and ready for business.

Although Sullivan has been in the business world for years, and has lived on the Vineyard for almost a decade, this is her first business venture on the Island. She's finally ready to share it with all of you.

The Grand Opening at Polished Spa will occur this coming weekend, Saturday May 28, from noon to 4 p.m. Polished will feature some great deals, such as $10 off the Classic Island pedicure, as well as an open house and raffle. Can't make it down for the weekend? Polished offers 10 percent off to Island Club Card holders and members of the Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce and the Martha's Vineyard Women's Network, any day of the week.

The salon is open daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with walk-ins welcome. ("Open till 6" means she'll take clients up to the very last minute at 6 p.m., and stay longer to accomodate their needs, if needs be, said Sullivan.)

Even the basic pedicure package is what Rosette calls "salon deluxe quality," meaning hot towels and leg massages come with the territory, and calming music, aromatherapy and candles are just a part of her dedication to a wonderful, relaxing spa experience. In addition to manicures and pedicures, Polished offers a range of massage and reflexology services, sea-salt and sugar scrubs and Dead Sea mud wraps.

If you're just stopping in to see the new spa in town or you're coming to spoil yourself or a loved one, Polished is sure to knock you off your feet . . . and do your toes for you!

About this column: After thinking about everyone else in the family, this is something for Mom to do/buy/go to for herself.
