Ernie Boch Jr. May Buy Boston Globe

A spokesperson for Boch Enterprises revealed that Ernie Boch Jr. is interested in buying the Boston Globe from The Times Co.

Edgartown summer resident Ernie Boch Jr., owner of Norwood-based Boch Enterprises, is considering the purchase of The Boston Globe, the Boston Business Journal reports.

"Ernie is teaming up with Bruce Mittman, president and CEO of Mittcom (the Newton marketing agency), and partner in Community Broadcasters (the radio station group in upstate New York)," Peggy Rose, a spokesperson for Boch Enterprises told the journal. "Together they bring the financial resources and decades of experience in media and marketing necessary to make this purchase viable.”

The Times Co. currently owns The Boston Globe and has been looking for buyers since 2009.
