"Dangerous" Morning Tide Predicted

The Steamship Authority has canceled some morning ferry trips as the National Weather Service warns of a "dangerous" high tide this morning. A coastal flood watch and high wind warning remain in effect for Dukes County until tonight.

The National Weather Service has extended its flood and wind warnings for Dukes County though Friday evening, according to an update posted this morning:

This morning's high tide is expected to have a greater impact  than the high tide Thursday morning and probably a comparable  to possibly a little worse impact than the February 9 storm tide.

Moderate with areas of major coastal flooding is anticipated for  this morning/s high tide. This high tide will be dangerous with  scattered damage to vulnerable structures possible.
