A 19-year-old fell overboard on a trip from Oak Bluffs to Woods Hole Thursday night, but did not sustain serious injuries, according to reports.

A crew of the Steamship Authority's Martha's Vineyard ferry rescued a 19-year-old man who fell from the upper deck of the boat Thursday night, according to the Martha's Vineyard Times.

The crew launched an inflatable boat into the water to rescue the man within 10 minutes, according to the MV Times. The vessel was on a scheduled trip from Oak Bluffs to Woods Hole.

"He was an extremely, extremely lucky individual," Greg Gifford, SSA Port Captain, told the Times Friday. "It was an excellent response by the entire crew. They were phenomenal. It just goes to show that training pays off. It as dark, it was just about 9 p.m."
