Black Dog Tavern Has Reopened

UPDATED: Vineyard Haven's iconic waterfront restaurant — and the rumored centerpiece of a nationally cablecast reality TV show called "The Vineyard" that begins filming in May—has opened its doors for the 2013 season.

More good news from Facebook: The Black Dog Tavern has reopened for the 2013 season, posting Friday:

The Tavern is open! Come back and enjoy breakfast and lunch seven days a week, and dinner Thursday thhrough Saturday. Coming this season we will have outdoor seating and events for the whole family on campus, so stay tuned for updates. Woof!

The Black Dog has operated on the Vineyard Haven waterfront since the early 1970s, serving three meals a day in season and spinning off a wildly popular line of logo clothing and gear sold at shops both on and off the Vineyard, as well as a bakery in front of the restaurant and a year-round café on State Road.

Hollywood insiders say the original Black Dog is also soon to be the centerpiece of the which starts production in May and begins screening on the ABC Family channel in late July.
