Annual Oak Bluffs Book Sale Returns Thursday

The Library Friends of Oak Bluffs presents the annual book sale, featuring gently used books at unbeatable prices.

For more than 20 years the Library Friends of Oak Bluffs have helped continue the community's interest in reading by hosting book sales, book drop-offs and book drives. This year is no exception. The annual book sale at the Oak Bluffs Public Library, which takes place Thursday, July 21 to Saturday, July 23, will help facilitate a home for unwanted books and serve a place to select reading material at reasonable prices.

"People came in with car- and truckloads of books," Library Friends of Oak Bluffs president Marilyn Miller said. "We're no longer accepting books, because have no place to put them."

At least a dozen people have been helping move reading material from temporary storage to the tables for the book sale. There will be thousands of books, and a large number of children and young adults books from which to choose.

"So many children and young adults books in great condition," Miller said. "We had a lot of beautiful contributions from people all over the Island."

"We’ve put books in every possible nook and cranny," said Miller.
