A High Wind Advisory for Martha's Vineyard

High winds and rain from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, all day today and into the overnight period, a high wind watch is in effect. Expect strong wind with gusts up to 40 mph through the day on Wednesday and 60 mph on Thursday morning and into Thursday afternoon.

Temperatures will remain constant in the low 30's throughout the course of the next two days, with temperatures feeling much colder factoring in the strong winds.

The watch will effect all of Dukes County through mid-morning on Thursday. There is the threat of torrential downpours and whippings winds after midnight and into Thursday morning. Chance of rain on Wednesday night is near 100%, and on Thrusday there is a 60% chance of rain.

For travelers on and off island, expect high surf and stay tuned to Steamship Authority for possible boat cancellations.
